Design -  3/5

Holy Basil is located alongside the Parramatta River. There is both an inside and outside seating area. The restaurant was decorated with luxe textures—velvet lounges. The space was filled with huge gold statues; it is overwhelming but notably unique. The upstairs and front part of the restaurant were much more open and brighter in comparison to where we sat; we were seated in the very back corner of the restaurant, where it was dark and squishy as we were directly in front of the bar.

Value For Money - 4/5

Kim and I both ordered a mixed entree; our mains were the chicken and cashew nut stir-fry and the calamari. The value for money was quite good, and the dishes were reasonable servings.

Service - 2.5/5

The service was good; we were seated quickly. It did take a bit to be served, but once we were, they were super efficient. When we ordered, they offered for everything to come out at once or entrees first; we asked for the entrees to come out first, and whilst it did, the mains followed very soon after, so our mains did go slightly cold before we got to them.

Quality - 3/5

The quality was overall great; the food was cooked fresh, and everything was super flavorsome. Although the quirky decor is too much, you won't take much notice of it once you get stuck into the food. We recommend this venue when you've been craving Thai for a week and you want to feast on the goodness of a great cashew nut stir fry.

TOTAL SCORE - 12.5/20
