Led by our Chief Executive Partner, James Frank, Frank Law is a second-generation corporate and commercial law firm with a proud history of serving family-owned and operated or founder led businesses. 1979
Andrew Frank, our Founding partner, was admitted to practice.
1979-1983
Andrew Frank practiced as a solicitor in Newcastle in partnership with Turnbull Hill.
1983-1985
Andrew Frank moved from Turnbull Hill to Blake Dawson Waldron which was at the time Australia’s largest law firm which is now Ashurst.
1985
Andrew Frank established Druitt Frank in Parramatta with Robyn Druitt, who would in 1990 be called to the Bar as a Barrister.
1991
Druitt Frank became Frank & Woods Solicitors in Parramatta which subsequently became Frank & Richardson and Andrew Frank & Co. Throughout the 1990s, Andrew Frank’s practice was the largest specialist litigation practice in Parramatta.
2001
Andrew Frank & Co became Cumberland Frank, one of the first incorporated legal practices in Australia.
2009
Cumberland Frank became Frank Legal with operations moving from Parramatta to The Hills.
2012
James Frank joined the firm following his successful track record of founding, scaling, and exiting several businesses spanning technology, services, and extracurricular activities. His aim was to "innovate the provision of legal service". Consequently, the firm expands its service offering to include commercial and strategic advisory services.
2016
James Frank becomes a Partner in the firm.
2017
Frank Law launches Corporate Advisory division and the @Work Subscription is launched.
2020
Frank Legal is renamed to Frank Law to reflect a change in direction and purpose. The firm is relocated from The Hills back into Parramatta.
2022
Frank Advisory is established and obtains an AFSL via a CAR and Frank Law ceases all personal law work to become an exclusive B2B law and advisory firm.
2023
Sarah Low and Bahar Agar are promoted to Director level.
2025
Frank Law and Advisory separated to become two individual businesses, Frank Law and Frank Advisory, enabling our teams to focus on the core business.
