Holy Basil is known for its eccentric design. The place is decorated with luxe textures - velvet lounges, an entire wall with terracotta pots, bedazzled walls with gold bling, hanging plants, and huge gold statues dominating the space. It is overwhelming, but notably unique.
Value For Money - 4/5
Holy Basil has a large menu with lots of options. It is very well portioned. Entrees were around the $9 mark, and the mains we had were between $14.90-$19.90. We felt there was great value for money due to the decent sizes of the dishes.
Service - 4.5/5
The service was very sound. Every aspect of the meal was done quickly and without having to ask for someone to come over.
Quality - 5/5
Holy Basil had amazing food! The whole conversation throughout the meal was: "yum", "this is so good", "I told you this was the best Thai in Parramatta", "have you tried this?", "can I have the last bit of this?" Stand out items were the curry puffs, the calamari, the roast duck curry and the pork belly stir fry. Really very excellent food!
Holy Basil excelled in the quality of its dishes. Every plate was licked clean. Although the quirky decor is too much, you won't take much notice of it with your head buried in the curry in front of you. We recommend this venue when you've been craving Thai for a week and you want to feast on the goodness of a great cashew nut stir fry.
