Risky business: Not having a BA lawyer

It’s especially important to discuss the risks of not having a Business Advisory lawyer.

Following our discussion of what you can expect from your Business Advisory Lawyer, it’s especially important to discuss the risks of not having a BA lawyer.

As mentioned earlier, a BA lawyer ought to protect you from the significant costs applied to you breaching your compliance obligations and from unnecessary battles in Court.

If you do not consult a BA lawyer before you sign any agreement or transaction, no matter how important or unimportant it may seem at the time, you may be signing on to a lot of pain. If you don’t understand it or you think it is not advantageous for you or your business, STOP and consult your BA lawyer.

Sometimes your accountant or Financial Advisor might offer to draft or review legal documents for you. This could include Trust Deeds, contracts or leasing arrangements.  While these professionals may speak confidentially, you wouldn’t ask your builder to give you a health check up and asking non-legal professionals to handle legal documentation is asking for trouble.  A BA lawyer can give you the most correct information regarding the regulatory environment that your business operates in.

It’s important to note that quality legal advice and documentation shouldn’t leave you scratching your head. Our BA Lawyers want to empower you by providing sophisticated plain English documents to protect your business.

Sometimes we have clients that come to us when some of the aforementioned risks have already become a stressful and daunting reality for them, our BA lawyers know what to look for so you can avoid falling into this situation in the first place.
