Design - 3.5/5

Soul Burger has a trendy aesthetic. With a black wall featuring wooden shelving that holds old pipes as lights, it creates a cool and modern atmosphere. The menu is displayed like an art gallery along the other wall. Although the interior was fresh, the outside seating was worse for wear. The shade had holes letting the rain in, and the tables' lacquer had peeled away to be a bubbly mess.

Value For Money - 4/5

As a casual dining venue, we expected there to be great value for money and were pleasantly satisfied. Burgers range from $11 to $16, with a variety of sides and drinks to add to your meal.

Service - 3.5/5

We visited Soul Burger at peak time for lunch, and were surprised when we saw only two employees working. The server was helpful with our ordering, and delivered our meals very quickly. However, as a result of the low staffing, there were several tables left uncleaned, and we received no follow up.

Quality - 2.5/5

If you aren't aware, Soul Burger is a purely vegan eating establishment. Most of the burgers have 'plant based' meat - meaning the patty has no actual meat and is a combination of water, pea protein isolate, canola oil, refined coconut oil, potato starch, natural flavor, yeast extract, and beet juice extract, to form a substitute that looks and is meant to taste like meat.

We all concluded that the burgers were okay. It did somewhat simulate meat, but it was an average burger. If you choose to dine here, opt for the falafel or chicken over the beef. Presentation was lacking, as well.

Soul Burger is probably a heavenly dining experience for vegans. However, as meat eaters, we know how much better burgers can be.

TOTAL SCORE - 13.5/20
